The Grind is changing.

First of all, it would be remiss of us not to apologise for the unacceptable delays people have faced while waiting to hear about their submissions to ISSUE V. Everybody has now been contacted. The quality of the submissions to this issue was staggering and has resulted in our last issue having many, many more contributors than we anticipated. First world problems. ISSUE V will be released when it is ready.

Second of all, it may have come to your attention that we no longer broadcast our weekly radio show. Regrettably this is due to the time commitment becoming untenable with our real lives. We would like to thank 98.8 Castle FM for the hospitality they showed us and for giving us such a wonderful opportunity.

However, The Grind is not about endings; it is about new ideas and continually pursuing projects that we believe will best showcase the unbelievable creative talent that Scotland has to offer. It is to this end that we are delighted to announce our next ventures.

The Grind will be launching a fortnightly podcast with RJ Bayley, host of The RJ Bayley Rock Show on 98.8 Castle FM, recorded at the wonderful Embassy Gallery in Edinburgh. We'll be bringing you chat, discussion, and musings on art, music, culture, science, and anything in between, plus we'll be talking to artists and musicians from all over the world. We will also be broadcasting ALL of the fiction The Grind published in ISSUES I - V. It will be available through a variety of platforms and will be commencing in the coming weeks.

Our second venture is intrinsically linked to the first. We will be launching a BRAND NEW PUBLICATION. This particular publication will be publishing written and visual art that could be considered to belong to the genres of science fiction, horror, and speculative and weird fiction, from people all over the world. The Grind is going INTERNATIONAL. We will always have a particular focus on Scotland, however, and our core values will not change.

If you have any questions, or would like more information about our various ventures, you can email us; thegrindjournal@gmail.com.

And that is that.
